INTRODUCTION :
The Sri Sai Satcharitra is considered by Sai devotees to be the de facto bible of Sai literature and is read by them regularly as an act of worship.

It was begun in 1910, during Baba's lifetime, and received his blessing. It therefore has the ring of truth to it and more importantly it conveys something of the essence of Baba's presence, his life, and the adoration which he inspired in so many.

It was written, originally in Marathi, by Annasaheb Dabholkar who Baba nick-named Hemadpant on first meeting him, and is of a particular style, following as it does, an ancient poetic meter.

The Sri Sai Satcharitra is available in most modern Indian languages and the English version, as presented here, is an adaptation in a prose style by Nagesh Vasudev Gunaji. These are all available from the Sai Baba Sansthan in Shirdi.
